Position Summary
The Health Coach at Opti Metabolics is responsible for delivering personalized, data-driven support to members working to reverse insulin resistance and restore metabolic health. This role involves interpreting biomarker results in collaboration with our clinical team, guiding sustainable lifestyle change, providing nutrition and supplement education, and helping members implement individualized health plans across all phases of the program.

Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual 1:1 coaching sessions and provide asynchronous support to members.
- Interpret advanced lab results and biomarkers in collaboration with the clinical team to develop tailored action plans.
- Guide members through structured metabolic protocols focused on weight loss, insulin resistance reversal, inflammation reduction, and healthy aging.
- Educate on nutrition fundamentals including whole-food-based eating, elimination of ultra-processed foods and seed oils, and strategic use of low-carb, ketogenic, or fasting-based frameworks.
- Provide supplement education and guidance, including timing, interactions, contraindications, and when food-first alternatives are preferred.
- Use behavior-change tools (e.g., motivational interviewing, goal setting, active listening) to support lasting habit transformation.
- Track member progress and adapt coaching plans in response to feedback, readiness, or lab result changes.
- Document coaching sessions in compliance with company protocols and privacy standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflows, educational content, and the member experience.
- Participate in peer review sessions, internal case discussions, and continuing education.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), or National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBHWC)
- Additional certifications in coaching or functional frameworks strongly preferred (e.g., Precision Nutrition Level 1 or 2, FMCA, IFNA)
- Consideration may be given to experienced personal trainers (e.g., NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA) with nutrition coaching credentials and extensive client coaching background
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on coaching in a clinical, wellness, or private-practice setting
- Experience supporting clients using biomarker-based assessments and personalized nutrition plans
- Familiarity with chronic conditions tied to metabolic dysfunction, including prediabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, or inflammation-related disorders
Supplementation Competency
- Knowledge of commonly used supplements in metabolic health (e.g., berberine, magnesium, omega-3s, B-complex, D3/K2, curcumin)
- Understanding of supplement timing, interactions, contraindications, and practitioner-grade tools (e.g., Fullscript or similar)
Technical & Communication Skills
- Proficient with digital coaching tools, telehealth platforms, and member-facing documentation
- Strong communication skills with a coaching mindset: active listening, empathy, motivational interviewing, and habit design
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with low-carb, ketogenic, fasting-mimicking, or anti-inflammatory dietary frameworks
- Familiarity with CGMs, digital biomarker dashboards, and wearable data interpretation
- Alignment with the Opti Metabolics philosophy: lifestyle-first, root-cause driven, and anti-inflammatory health practices
- Experience working in a start-up, virtual care, or hybrid functional medicine model
- Training or practical use of behavior-change psychology and/or habit-based coaching
Working Conditions
- Fully remote; flexible hours depending on caseload and member availability
- Some evening or weekend availability may be required based on member preferences
- Requires high self-direction, strong time management, and collaboration within a dynamic and evolving coaching framework
- Secure, HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive health data is required
